光电保护装置是通过发射红外线，产生保护光栅，当光栅被遮挡时，装置发出遮光信号，控制具有潜在危险的机械设备停止工作，以降低操作人员在工作环境中受到伤害的可能性。莱恩光电科技公司生产的光电保护装置分为两种类型：ST型光电保护装置，又分为STF系列、STD系列、STQ系列，主要用于大型冲压设备、剪切设备、机器人装配线、机械焊接流水线、机械加工传送线、以及其他较大危险区域的防护。SN型光电保护装置，又分为SNA系列、SNB系列，主要用于小型冲压设备、剪切设备、机械加工设备、注塑机械、切纸机械、木工加工机械、立体车库、以及其他危险区域的防护。
